I've noticed that this board, as I'm sure a few have noticed, can get fairly dangerous quickly, with the assigning of strangers to powerful positions and such, so here's some pointers to help out:
For those looking for staff:
Make the title of your thread simple: "Staff for General Board" makes more sense that "2 mods, 4 admins, coder and dancing monkey". After all, staff implies all of those, there's little need to list them all. Try to fit in your board's genre as well.
In addition to providing the link to your board, make sure to put in a small description. For example, if I wanted to get staff for my board, I'd write: "My board is a space sci-fi RPG involving pirates and navy, with plenty of room to expand and limited destractions from the game." That way, those who my apply for your board know that you wish to focus on your game and need staff who are willing to do the same. Don't worry about writing a novel, just enough to get your point across.
List the staff positions you need filled, and provide each with another small description. Example: 1 Mod for General board: must keep members in line, clean out old posts, and asist on other boards as needed. Also, list any requirements you may have. Example: Must be able to RP well, do basic coding, and deal with players on a professional level.
Never give out positions with blind trust or just because they were the first person to apply. Trusting a stanger with a staff post with the maximum number of staff abilities is a diaster waiting to happen. Even though people on this board have a bit more credibity, don't trust them with everything right off the bat, make sure they can and will do their job before giving them the golden key to your city.
For those applying for positions:
Before applying, read the employer's post carefully and check out as much of their board as possible. Trust me, do not make the mistake of not doing so. Looking isnt enough, look carefully and most importantly, read carefully.
Talk with the employer, privately, if possible, and discuss both the job and the site. In order to be the best staff member, both for you and the employer, you'll need to understand what you getting into, and they need to know that you're willing to accept and deal with it.
Make sure that you have both the time and ability to do what is asked of you. You'll not only look bad if you don't, you'll waste both your and your employer's time.
Good luck in finding your staff, folks, and if you need anything, at least, anything you think I can help with, feel free to PM me.
